Members of AnimalhealthEurope and HealthforAnimals, have joined forces to issue a Declaration on African Swine Fever, which recognizes that ASF is an unprecedented crisis that threatens animal welfare along with food security and the livelihoods of people around the world. Both organizations call for improved biosecurity and control measures until an effective vaccine is available. The statement provides clear actions for policy makers to mitigate the effects of this crisis and stimulate vaccine development.

AnimalHealthEU contacted our coordinator, Prof. José Manuel Sánchez-Vizcaíno to know how the project is going and the challenges we were facing in the coming years.
